Inaugural Meeting Held of the
Economic Development Advisory Board
North Bay, Ontario: Following Council’s unanimous resolution of the formation of an Economic Development Corporation in December 2014, the Economic Development Advisory Board had their inaugural meeting.
The twelve-member Board of business and community leaders enthusiastically recognizes the potential opportunities for job growth and increased economic activity within our community. As such, the Board has initiated the process to develop a corporation to attract industry and business to North Bay.
Specifically, the Corporation will create pursuit teams to act on qualified investment leads, establish stakeholder partnerships, and serve as a vehicle for leveraging and implementing innovative business investment.
Moving forward, the Board agreed to meet regularly to accelerate the mandate of the Corporation. The Board looks to model the Corporation based on several municipalities that have successfully utilized a similar structure to accelerate growth.
