Impaired driving and truck theft in Almaguin

(STRONG TWP, ON) – On Monday, November 7, 2016, at approximately 7:00 p.m. the North East Region Highway Safety Division (HSD) was conducting R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on Highway 124 at Mountainview Road.

Officers observed an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) approach the program and subsequently arrested the driver, James Dalziel, 30 of South River for care or control over 80 milligrams of alcohol.

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, November 24, 2016, in Sundridge.

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – On Saturday, November 5, 2016, at approximately 5:30 a.m. the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of a Ford pickup truck.

The vehicle was parked on Doe Lake Road and sometime between 10:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016, and 4:00 a.m on Saturday, November 5, 2016, unknown person(s) attended the property and stole the vehicle, a 2004 grey Ford F350. 

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
