(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Friday January 23, 2015 Just before 9:00pm an off duty police officer was traveling on Aspdin Road when he located a vehicle in the ditch. The driver of a GMC Sierra pickup was attempting to get his vehicle out of the snowbank when the officer found him. The officer checked on the well-being of the driver and found that he had been drinking.
With the assistance of the shift members the driver John Jack WEST (68yrs) of Huntsville was eventually arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and having more than 80mgs of alcohol per 100mltrs of blood under the Criminal Code of Canada. He was also charged with driving under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused was released and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on February 18, 2015 in Huntsville to answer to his charges.
