Heritage Railway gets a wheelchair accessible train coach

The North Bay Heritage Railway and Carousel Company now has a wheelchair accessible train coach capable of taking two motorized wheelchairs at a time.

"We will be unveiling our Wheelchair Accessible Train Coach this coming Sunday, at 1 p.m. at the caboose souvenir office. We would invite everyone to join us as we celebrate this awesome new feature trainset," said spokesman Bill White.

This special coach will be available Sunday, June 24 from 1 until 5 p.m.

Regular scheduled service will be Sunday from 1 until 5 p.m, and Tuesday from 1 until 5 p.m. beginning July 3.

"Also, we would remind people that the seven days a week service will begin Monday, June 25,  operating daily from 10 a.m. till dusk, weather permitting of course," added White. "This schedule will run until Labour day at which time we will revert to weekends only until Thanksgiving weekend."
