Four drivers caught driving distracted

The North Bay Police Service’s Traffic Unit conducted a targeted traffic enforcement on Thursday August 4th, specifically targeting drivers for distracted driving.

The enforcement took place at McIntyre and John and at Algonquin and Cassells over a three-hour period yesterday. One uniformed officer was in a marked vehicle while the other officer was dressed as construction worker, wearing a hardhat and safety vest.

Results: Four drivers were issued $490 tickets (which includes Victim Fine Surcharge and court costs) for distracted driving; two were talking and two were texting on their mobile phones.
