A food drive with a Northern Ontario flavour is an initiative of Catholic Women’s League members across the north-east.

Local efforts in many communities in our region will culminate in a food collection drive at designated grocery stores. Monetary donations are also accepted. A number of parishes and schools will also be collecting food in conjunction with these events. Proceeds will go to local Food Banks and Soup Kitchens.

  • North Bay - Jeff & Tanis’ No Frills, 300 Lakeshore Drive
  • Callendar – Foodland, 30 Bay Street

Name: Hunger Knows No Season Food Drive

Date: Saturday, February 17

Time:  9 am - 2 pm

"We are thankful to the wonderful people in the communities for supporting our efforts to help those affected by food insecurity" stated Lisa Henry, President for the Sault Ste. Marie Diocesan Council of The Catholic Women's League of Canada. "The donated food items will ensure that thousands of people experiencing hunger across these many communities can access food they need for themselves and their families. This will make an immediate difference for people experiencing food insecurity that is so prevalent at this time."

The Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie extends from Wawa to Callander and has 29 councils in three regions of North Bay, Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie with over 1,800 League members.
