The Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN) is a not-for-profit agency of the Government of Ontario, with branches such as ours across the province. TGLN plans, promotes, coordinates and supports organ and tissue donation and transplantation. Its mission is to save and enhance lives through the gift of organ and tissue donation and transplantation in Ontario. April is BEADONOR month and the third week of April is our focus week for organ and tissue donor registration awareness.

"We are hosting events throughout North Bay during this month, including booths set up at the North Bay Mall, Northgate Shopping Centre, and the North Bay Regional Health Centre, among other places," says a news release.

"We would like to invite you to personally attend the TGLN Flag Raising and Proclamation Ceremony at North Bay City Hall, hosted by Mayor Al McDonald."

  • North Bay is currently 23% above the provincial average for organ/tissue donations, sitting at 54% vs 31% in Ontario.
  • More than 85% of all Ontarians are in favour of organ and tissue donation, however only 1 in 4 have registered their consent to donate via the website.
  • Organ donation cards in your wallet are no longer valid.  Beadonor.ca is the only way to confirm registration on the donor list.
  • It only takes 2 minutes to register on line. Beadonor.ca is the simple, electronic and quick way for you to register your consent for organ and tissue donation in Ontario.
  • Currently there are over 1,600 people in Ontario waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Awareness and information will reduce this number.
  • You are never too old or too ill to register your consent to donate.
  • Talk about it with your family and loved ones.  Let them know your wishes, and encourage them to Beadonor too.
