The North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) will host a blood donor centre for its employees and the public, right at the hospital. The Health Centre is committed to collect 48 donations.

“We are pleased and proud to have the opportunity to support our patients in this way,” says Dr. Ali Amer, General Pathologist at the NBRHC. “In order to meet the needs of the communities we serve, the Health Centre needs ample supplies of many different blood types at all times. For example, it takes up to five donors to help someone undergoing cancer treatment.

“We invite North Bay residents to join us and make an appointment to donate blood. One hour of your time could change someone’s life,” says Dr. Amer. “Free parking is available for all donors.”

When: Monday, October 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Where: Gymnasium, North Bay Regional Health Centre

More blood donors — including first-time donors — are still needed to make the NBRHC blood donor centre a success.
