Mapleridge Public School students, staff, and volunteers were out in the cold recently, forming a human chain to deliver food bank items for Powassan and District Food Bank.
The students were happy to report that they had collected "1,159 items."
Food Bank co-ordinator, Sally McCharles was "thrilled with the response from the school children."
Donations come at an important time of the year- the Powassan and District Food Bank is now serving over 100 families and has almost 60 children on its roster.
