Domestic violence stats for March

North Bay Police Service responded to 93 domestic-related calls for service.

Over the month of March 2016, the North Bay Police Service responded to 93 domestic-related calls for service. As a result of police investigations into these complaints, 12 people were arrested and a total of 33 criminal charges were laid.

7 men were arrested and charged. The charges were:

  • five charges of assault
  • one charge of utter threats
  • one charge for mischief
  • one charge for criminal harassment
  • one charge for possession (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act)
  • one charge for forcible confinement
  • nine charges for breach of release order

5 women were arrested and charged. The charges were:

  • five charges for assault
  • three charges for assault with weapon
  • one charge for mischief
  • four charges for breach of release order
