Domestic violence leads to charges

Following an investigation into a domestic violence incident that took place on Sunday, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

A 31-year old man has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon.

It is alleged that in a North Bay residence shortly after midnight on Sunday June 19th, 2016, a verbal argument between the accused and his female partner turned violent when the accused swung a patio chair towards her. He later grabbed a kitchen knife and swung it at her. Neither the chair nor the knife hit the victim. 

A short time later, police located the accused, who had fled the scene on foot. 

The North Bay Police Service is withholding the name of the accused, who was held in custody for bail, in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim.
