Greg Saunders, Deputy Fire Chief says on Sunday February 26th at 4 a.m. North Bay Fire personnel from all three stations responded to a report of a structure fire at 69 Charlton with people still in the basement.
"While en-route we were informed that everyone in the home was able to self-evacuate. Personnel from fire station three arrived on scene within four minutes. Firefighters entered the home and aggressively and effectively knocked down the fire in the kitchen area," said Saunders.
"Working smoke alarms are credited with providing the residents with early notification of the danger presented by the fire and allowing them time to evacuate the home. A very fast and effective response from fire department personnel mitigated the potential losses associated with the incident."
