UPDATED: ARREST MADE Death is murder say Opp

Investigators have classified the death of George Chapman, 68, from Spanish, as a homicide
opp - too small!

Update:

At approximately 12:00 p.m. on July 7, 2017, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an individual in relation to an ongoing homicide investigation. The individual was taken into custody without incident in the Town of Spanish and remains in custody awaiting a court appearance. 

The victim, 68 year old George Chapman, was found unresponsive outside of a residence in the Town of Spanish shortly after noon on July 4, 2017. The investigation is continuing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) Detective Inspector Mark Zulinski.

On July 4, shortly after noon., OPP from East Algoma Detachment responded to an unresponsive man located outside a home in the Town of Spanish.

Yesterday, a post mortem examination was conducted at the Northeastern Regional Forensic Pathology Unit in Sudbury. 

As a result, investigators have classified the death of George Chapman, 68, from Spanish, as a homicide.

The OPP East Algoma Crime Unit is continuing its investigation under the direction of OPP Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Inspector Mark Zulinski.
