*****News Release******

The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board is thrilled to announce that St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School raised over $5,600 in just one week for the North Bay Santa Fund during last weeks’ “Crazy Christmas Challenge” activities!

During the week of December 7th, students had the opportunity to donate $5 to the North Bay Santa Fund and, in return, received a dress down and/or an ugly Christmas sweater day on Friday, December 11th, a candy cane, and three extra ballots into a draw to take part in the “Crazy Christmas Challenges” at the assembly on Friday.

The spirit of generosity has been ringing true all school year, with SJSH participating in various social justice activities including the Bears Who Careraising almost $700 and 300 lbs of food for the North Bay Food Bank through their Haunted House on October 30.  Social Justice Friday donations have also been a success!  There have be donations for the Pro-Cathedral Christmas Dinner, donations of books for NPSC schools, $160 was raised for the Canadian Cancer Society, and $160 was raised to support Syrian refugees.  These are only a few of the activities that SJSH students and staff have been participating in this year.

A special thank you to all students and staff who contributed to the North Bay Santa Fund, as well as to Ms. Suzanne Guillemette who organized the annual event.
