Complaint from public leads to impaired charge

Just after midnight this morning North Bay OPP received a complaint about a possible impaired driver.  

Officers found and stopped the vehicle for a sobriety check on the driver. Officers conducted a roadside screening on the driver which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to North Bay OPP for further testing.

As a result of a police investigation, Misty Curran, 49, of Mattawa, was charged with "Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 over)."

The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the driver's license was suspended for 90 days. The driver was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on April 27.

This incident marks 20 drivers charged under the criminal impaired driving laws in the North Bay OPP Detachment area in the year 2021.
