Close call for police cruiser

An OPP officer had to be alert last week while on patrol.

Police say on July 8, at approximately 4 p.m., a member of the North Bay OPP was northbound on Highway 63, Phelps Township, when a vehicle pulled out from a private driveway, directly in front of the cruiser. 

The officer swerved to avoid a collision.

The vehicle was stopped and, upon further investigation, the driver, Patricia Ball, age 69, of Redbridge, was arrested and charged with:

  • Driving with More than 80 Mgs. of Alcohol in Blood

Ball was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on July 19.
