Looking to be a Santa for financially challenged families over Christmas?

A program called Christmas Smiles could be for you.

Gisele Hebert is the Executive Director Nipissing-Parry Sound Children's Aid Society and says their program will support a family that is in need of assistance over the holidays.

Hebert says it's the second year of the program.

"Last year, we supported 340 local families and 250 children were sponsored. It was unbelievable," Hebert told CKAT.

She says you can donate money or purchase gifts.

"Christmas is a very stressful time and the campaign alleviates some of that pressure and allows these kids to have what many children take for granted," she says.

The deadline to make a donation is December 16.

You're asked not to wrap any gifts you donate. A tax receipt is available upon request.
