Canadore was in attendance at the first ever World Youth Skills Day in New Delhi, India yesterday.

The delegation is on a week-long ‎business development trip to advance discussions with education institutions and industry players.

During the ceremony, India's Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the SKILL INDIA initiative which will improve the technical skills of over 400 million citizens. The announcement included a National Policy for Skill Development that provides several support mechanisms such as student loan programs and prior learning recognition.

“The up-skilling of India's people, and in particular it's youth, is a clear priority for Prime Minister Modi and the Government of India. Today's launch of the Skill India initiative and the National Policy for Skill Development creates a national framework for technical skills training. Through partnership with India's National Skills Development Corporation, Canadore will help build world-class Aviation and Trades training capabilities,” said Richard Peters, Canadore’s Vice President of Finance, Admin and International.

“This is good news for youth and the underemployed.”
