For many young Canadians, summer is more than just a relaxing break from school; it’s a crucial time when they are able to earn extra money to help cover expenses, save for the future, or fund further education.
A great summer job can make a real difference in a young person’s life. It allows them to build the work experience and skills they will need to thrive in their future careers and that is why every summer, the Government of Canada supports the creation of thousands of jobs for youth through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing-Timiskaming says, “Summer jobs are critical to the well-being of our local economy. The pool of capable, dynamic and diverse talent available to employers increases during summer months, allowing many businesses to meet their seasonal staffing needs.”
Tens of thousands of new job opportunities for young people between the ages of 15 and 30 have now been posted on the Job Bank website. That includes 251 summer jobs in Nipissing-Timiskaming.
Rota says, “I encourage youth to apply for jobs by visiting jobbank.gc.ca/youth or through the Job Bank mobile app. Visit the website regularly because new jobs will be posted over the coming months.”
Job placements are available in many different sectors.
