In a presentation this morning at Caisse populaire North Bay, the President of the Board of Directors Albert St-Onge announced this year’s edition of the ongoing “Local Caisse Calendar”. This year’s version was unveiled in Caisse populaire’s main lobby, where a cheque for $3,850 was presented to L.I.P.I.

“We have had such overwhelming support from our region’s sponsors once again this year. We were fortunate to be able to fill each of the required sections of the calendar in less than a day. It’s so exciting to see that everyone is always so eager for the calendars to come out. This has certainly become a tradition that we plan on continuing for many years to come” said Executive Assistant Crissy Green.

L.I.P.I. Executive Director Lana Mitchell was very thankful at today’s event. “When Caisse populaire contacted me to say we would be this year’s recipient, I never dreamed it would be this much. It’s the perfect time of year since we will use this for our Annual Toy Drive,” she said after receiving the cheque.

The calendars will remain a free giveaway to the patrons of Caisse populaire and include images of area scenery provided by North Bay’s own local artists. Part of the annual event involves a public call for submissions, encouraging people to submit their photos.

It’s the sponsoring of the pages that raise the funds for the calendar. Every year it assists a different non-profit organization. The money donated by Caisse populaire’s generous commercial partners stays local, remaining within the region.

This year’s edition showcases a variety of locations including North Bay’s waterfront shoreline, Duchesnay Falls, Lake Nipissing and a variety of others. ‘Still life’ and seasonal images are also featured in several of this year’s chosen photographs.
