Cabbie claiming robbery charged with mischief

After a result of a lengthy and detailed investigation, it was determined that the robbery did not happen.

When a cabbie claimed to have been robbed at knifepoint, OPP started an investigation. 

Back on August 16, 2015, at 4:10 a.m., the East Algoma OPP began an investigation into a taxi driver who reported that an unknown man had just robbed him at knifepoint on Mississauga First Nation. 

After a result of a lengthy and detailed investigation, it was determined that the robbery did not happen.

Yesterday the taxi driver and complainant, Christopher Jason Black, 31 years of age, from Blind River was charged with;

  • Public Mischief, and
  • Theft Under $5,000, 

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on May 5.
