Busy Thanksgiving weekend for local OPP

Over the Thanksgiving long weekend, officers from the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to 96 calls for service including:

  • 23 traffic complaints
  • 10 motor vehicle collisions
  • 3 suspended drivers charged
  • 1 bench warrant arrest/execution

Officers also conducted dozens of checks on hunters throughout the weekend.

Meanwhile, during the month of September the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police  responded to several calls for service including the following incidents:

  • 2 Impaired Driving
  • 42 Motor Vehicle Collisions (1 Fatal Injury, 10 Personal Injury)
  • 13 Violent Crimes
  • 24 Property Crimes
  • 4 Drug-Related Occurrences

Acting Staff Sergeant Terry Foreshew, Detachment Commander of the North Bay OPP, would like to remind drivers "that any amount of alcohol or drugs can impair one's ability to drive.  Impaired driving is a serious issue on Ontario roads. Please drive sober."
