North Bay, ON – St. Joseph-Scollard Hall is pleased to announce it will be the venue for the eleventh annual Bridge Building Contest, hosted by the Professional Engineers of Ontario, North Bay Chapter.

On Thursday, March 10, 2016 students from across the district will participate in the Bridge Building Contest, fostering innovative engineering concepts and introducing students to the technical issues facing modern engineers. Students will have the opportunity to discuss issues with local engineers and will be given the chance to demonstrate their technical dexterity amongst peers.

The event will coincide with National Engineering Month and is part of an outreach program developed by the Professional Engineers of Ontario. The competition will be open to students from grades 5-8 (junior) and grades 9-12 (senior) and will be judged on themes such as craftsmanship, dimensional conformity, engineering content and load carrying ability.

The event will be an all-day competition in the Bishop Carter Auditorium at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall, with judging of senior grades taking place at approximately 1:00pm.
