Brass Camel is performing at the Fraser House in North Bay for the first time on Wednesday, March 20 as part of their 10-week, coast-to-coast "Over the Hump" tour.

For the Vancouver-based band, 2023 was a transformative year.

"After several consecutive sell-out shows at home and the release of their debut album, Brass, the funk/prog-infused rock group -which often draws comparison to acts as diverse as Supertramp, Rush and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard- hit the road on their first national tour which took them to Montreal and back," says a news release.

"This successful first run energized the group, alerted the industry to their presence, and saw them wrapping up the year with a performance at a sold-out Commodore Ballroom. This spring will see Brass Camel embarking on their Over the Hump tour before returning to the West to record their sophomore album. Come July, they're again hitting the road for a summer full of festival dates."

Their painstakingly crafted live presentation features double-neck guitars, custom stainless steel drums, huge marquee lights and more.

"It's a lot to fit on a club stage but all ingredients that make their concert an unforgettable one and, perhaps, part of the reason why they've been able to make touring Canada as an indie band work."

Listen to Brass Caamel's I've got the fox.
