News release: Nipissing – It is with great enthusiasm that le Conseil scolaire public du Nord Est de l’Ontario and le Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord along with their partners Élargir l’espace francophone, Employment Options Emploi and ACFO du grand Sudbury announce the very first volunteer recruitment fair within the Destination réussite Volet 1 initiative for the Nipissing region.

The Benefair is a proactive and innovative initiative to promote volunteerism in the Nipissing area for students of both French-language school boards.

This tradeshow style event will take place February 23rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Regency Hall of the Best Western Hotel on Lakeshore Drive in North Bay.

Several community organizations, including service clubs, sports clubs as well as social and health agencies will be on hand to promote their services.  The tradeshow style format makes it easier to recruit new young volunteers.  Students will have the opportunity to meet the volunteer coordinators and make better choices according to their interests and talents with which they would commit to complete their 40 hours of community service.

In addition, we will offer two short workshops that will help the students better understand the importance and what they will reap of their contributions to civic organizations.

Since we have already received several requests for kiosks and we still have a few places, we encourage organizations of the North Bay area that have not already done so to sign up as soon as possible

This activity will not only help with volunteer recruitment but will also offer non-profit organizations a great visibility in the community.
