This Saturday from 10 till 2, the North Bay and District Humane Society invite you to bring your furry friends - cats and dogs alike - to Barkfest Microchip Day and BBQ presented by Coldwell Banker.

“Microchips are the most efficient way to track pets,” says Executive Director Liam Cullin. “We recommend getting dogs and cats fitted with a microchip so that, in the event a pet is lost, we can easily connect with the owners and minimize the time the animal is away from its family.”

Microchips are $25 each or $40 with a city licence.

In addition to offering microchips, Barkfest includes a nail clipping service, pet photo booth, adoptions information booth, and BBQ. Nail clipping and refreshments are available with a donation to the Humane Society while pet photos from Vanessa Tignanelli Photography are $10 apiece.

Barkfest kicks off at 10 a.m. at the Humane Society, 2060 Main West.
