Every year, Airport and Aviation Industry Professionals from across Ontario, and Canada, come together for AMCO’s Annual Convention.

This year marks AMCO’s 31st Annual Convention and is hosted by the North Bay Jack Garland Airport Corporation. It's set to be held at the Best Western Hotel and Conference Centre in North Bay from October 3-5. It will include a trade show hosting over 30 exhibitors, numerous seminars featuring an array of aviation-related presentations and unlimited networking opportunities.

Traditionally, the Convention follows the Annual Golf Tournament at Osprey Links Golf Club. This year’s event also includes a tour of the North Bay Jack Garland Airport as well as Canadore College’s School of Aviation Technology, and facilities at CFB North Bay. A cruise of Lake Nipissing on the Chief Commanda and a banquet dinner at the historic Capitol Centre will also be highlights of the event.

The trade show offers businesses the opportunity to showcase what they can offer to the airport industry and provides the opportunity to network with airport managers and staff. The seminars that are presented cover a range of industry-relevant topics varying from Growth and Development, to Health and Safety, to Insurance and include much more.

Each year a local charity is chosen and a donation is made on behalf of the speakers of the Convention.  This year, The Gathering Place was selected. The Gathering Place provides many services that ensure everyone in the community has food to eat. Among other programs is the drop in meal service, the most popular service, which provides meals for those who would otherwise go hungry.

The Gathering Place has also created an Extreme Weather Centre providing shelter to those in need during our drastic winter and summer months.
