THEFT FROM A SHIPPING CONTAINER IN KEARNEY

(KEARNEY, ON) The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a theft to a shipping container that was located on Lake Street in the Town of Kearney.  The Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called on Thursday April 30, 2015 at approximately 11:30 a.m. to investigate the theft that occurred sometime between November 2014 and April 30, 2015.

Investigation revealed that unknown person(s) entered the locked storage container and stole a 2007 Yamaha YXR all-terrain vehicle, a 2000 Sea-Doo jet boat and a Riva P17 boat trailer, a generator, and various tools. The value of the stolen items is expected to exceed $10,000.

Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.”

BREAK AND ENTER TO ARMOUR TOWNSHIP RESIDENCE

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) On Monday April 27, 2015 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a break and enter to a Katrine Road, Armour Township residence.

Sometime between Thursday April 30, 2015 and Monday April 17, 2015 unknown person(s) entered the residence.  It does not appear that anything was taken from the home.

POLICE ARREST PERRY TOWNSHIP MAN FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING

(PERRY TWP, ON) On Thursday April 30, 2015 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling Highway 518 and Highway 592 in Perry Township when they observed an all-terrain vehicle travelling quickly.

OPP stopped the vehicle on Star Lake Road, Perry Township at approximately 9:00 p.m. and subsequently arrested and charged the driver with having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 10 milliliters of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code.

The driver, Derick KING, 38 of Perry Township was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday June 11, 2015 in Sundridge Ontario.


OPP INVESTIGATE STOLEN VEHICLE

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) On Saturday May 2, 2015 at approximately 3:15 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police investigated the theft of a stolen vehicle on Sunnylea Avenue, Armour Township.

Sometime between Wednesday April 29, 2015 and Saturday May 2, 2014 unknown person(s) stole a 2003 grey Pontiac Grand AM.  The Pontiac is described as having damage to the front right bumper.
