A hotel guest's complaint about snow blowing has led to assault charges against a man from Spanish.

On January 22 at 3 p.m., East Algoma OPP officers responded to an assault in the Town of Spanish, west of Espanola.

Police say the complainant was snow blowing in the rear of a local motel when a tenant became confrontational.

There was an angry exchange between the two "that escalated to chest-bumping and pushing." During the argument, the complainant was spat on and physically threatened say police.

The tenant left before police arrived.

A short time later, police found the tenant and as a result, Gary Davis, 46,from Spanish, is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Uttering threats-causing death or bodily harm

Davis is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on April 7, 2022.
