Discovery North Bay Museum is excited to announce that Dr. Eric Weichel will present a lecture entitled "Gift of the Imagination: Ancient Egypt in Popular Film and Television" on June 14th at 7 pm.  Ancient Egypt is the topic of countless books, films, and television. How well do these depictions match with what historians and archaeologists know about Ancient Egypt? Dr. Eric Weichel tackles this topic while showing a variety of clips from popular film and television.

The Royal Ontario Museum’s “Egypt: Gift of the Nile” is on from now until August 10th at Discovery North Bay Museum.  Visitors will have a chance to tour the exhibit following the presentation. The exhibit includes 68 authentic Egyptian artifacts including jewelry, carvings, writing implements, fabric and more. It also includes a full sized replica sarcophagus.
