News Release: Saturday, November 7, the Grandmothers hosted their annual Dare to Dine fundraising dinner at The Empire Retirement Residence.

The elegance of the ballroom and the professionalism of the staff lent a special aura to the event.

Music was provided by Brenda McLay before the meal and by Dreamcoat during coffee.

Thank you to all our guests, the staff of the Empire and Mike Anthony, the musicians, those who won the draws and the many folks who bought some of the table decorations.

After expenses, a cheque for $2,300 was sent to the Stephen Lewis Foundation to help the Grandmothers in Africa who are raising their grandchildren as a result of the AIDs epidemic.

These gutsy women are tuning the tide with our help.

North Bay has been commended by the Foundation for a city of small size with a huge heart.

The Grandmothers and Grand Others are proud!
