In three hours, 22 Wing collected $2,580 and 7,36lbs in non-perishable hamper items yesterday morning.
Since each dollar donated is the equivalent of one pound of food, 22 Wing collected 3 316 lbs of food during Wednesday's 22 Wing Cares Roadside Stop.
The event took place between 6 to 9 a.m. on Airport Road by the Air Defence Park.
Members of 22 Wing/Canadian Forces Base North Bay and community volunteers collected non-perishable food items and cash donations from motorists on behalf of My Team Cares in support of the North Bay Food Bank.
