The Children’s Aid Society of the District of Nipissing and Parry Sound was given a $20,000 donation from The Rotary Club of North Bay.
The timely contribution comes in response to the need for appliances for the new Elmwood community kitchen located at 140 Elmwood Avenue in North Bay. The kitchen is set for completion this fall and will be available for youth programming, cooking classes, meal sharing, community events and more.
"The Society recognizes the impact that learning critical life skills has on building strength, resilience and confidence in children, youth, and families. We also believe that sharing meals and a table brings people, stories and experiences together helping to build strong communities and bright futures," says a news release.
“This substantial contribution to the Elmwood redevelopment project will allow us to expand our resources and partnerships offering a safe and inclusive place where we can learn, cook and eat together.” says Gisèle Hébert - Executive Director.
