CHRISTMAS CAUTION The North Bay Police Service is looking for a thief who breaks into homes and steals Christmas gifts. Police say the most recent incident occurred on George Street Nov. 22 a few minutes before noon.

The North Bay Police Service is looking for a thief who breaks into homes and steals Christmas gifts.

Police say the most recent incident occurred on George Street Nov. 22 a few minutes before noon.

A woman and two young children were about to enter the home when they were surprised by a male within the residence.

He then fled the home by jumping out of a window and dropping a knife in the process.

The suspect had also abandoned a small wooden bat at the scene.

Entry had been gained by smashing a small basement window.

This man is described as being white, 18 years old, 5’10, slim build, short hair, pale complexion and was wearing a red toque, and dark clothing.

The North Bay Police Service would like to advise the public to be vigilant during this time of the year. If any suspicious activity or strange individual is seen lurking around homes, please call 911 to advise police.

STOLEN AUTO
On Nov. 22 between 7:30 PM and 9 PM a 1993 Grand Caravan Sports mini van was stolen from the parking lot at Northgate Mall.

This vehicle is further described as being teal green with decals on the side and had Ont. licence plate number ASN 913.

ATTEMPTED ENTRY
During the past weekend (Nov.19-10) thieves tried to pry the rear door of ICS Courier on Progress Court. Although there was damage to the siding and door, entry was unsuccessful.
