You know them best for buses and trains, but now Ontario Northland hopes to make a ‘paws-itive’ fashion statement while helping vulnerable companion animals.
Ontario Northland’s online merchandise store will carry pet bandanas with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Humane Society’s new Adoption Centre campaign.
“Our team was brainstorming ideas for promotional items and the idea came up to do something for our furrier Ontario Northland friends,” says Jennifer Buchannan, Corporate Services Representative. “Obviously, it made sense to partner with the Humane Society on this project, as we know there are always animals in need of a home.”
“When Ontario Northland reached out with their idea, it was an easy ‘yes’ from us,” says Liam Cullin, Executive Director for the Humane Society. “It’s a great way to raise funds while also creating awareness about the work our shelter does in the community.”
Locally, the North Bay Humane Society helps to adopt out nearly 1,400 animals every year and is set to begin construction on a new 3,200 square foot Adoption Centre in the coming weeks, according to a news release.
The dog bandanas are available in sizes small through large and sell for $19.99.
Sourced and manufactured in Northern Ontario, the bandanas are navy-and-white with a paw print design.
