Young and violent: morning police report

Two teenagers have been arrested and charged following a violent incident early this morning. The North Bay Police Service alleges that hortly after 3 AM an argument ensued between two groups of youths at Sherbrooke and McIntyre Streets.
Two teenagers have been arrested and charged following a violent incident early this morning.

The North Bay Police Service alleges that hortly after 3 AM an argument ensued between two groups of youths at Sherbrooke and McIntyre Streets. This argument escalated to the point that one of the male youths was assaulted and fell to the ground.

Two other youths then allegedly proceeded to continue and strike the victim and jumped on his head until the victim passed out. One of these youths then attempted to remove the victim’s wallet but was stopped from doing so by bystanders.

A 17-year-old male is charged with two counts of robbery and remains in custody.

Another 17-year-old male is charged with robbery and breach of probation and also remains in custody.

CRACK COCAINE
On Sept. 4 shortly after 2 AM constables Peter Brunette and Sue Solman of the North Bay Police Service received a call to attend a residence within the city. It is alleged that a female and male were found to be unlawfully in that residence. It is further alleged that a quantity of crack cocaine was also found within the home.

Milik ALIMIN, 26, of 4 Mile Lake Road, is charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling house, possession of a controlled substance and obstructing police. He is to attend court on Sept. 6.

April McGinnis, 23, of O’Brien Street, is charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling house and possession of a controlled substance. She was kept in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

TWO FOR BREAK AND ENTER
On Sept. 4 during the evening hours constables Richard Hampel and Henri O’Neil of the North Bay Police Service arrested two 17-year-old male youths for a break and enter into a dwelling that occurred in July of this year.

One of the youths is charged with break and enter and the other is charged with break and enter, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property. The latter was kept in custody for a bail hearing and the former is to attend court Oct. 19.

THEFT OF ATV
Between Aug. 29 and Sept. 2 thieves stole an ATV from a vacant lot in the 1500 block of Pinecreek Road in Callander. This ATV is described as being a red Honda 350 with Ontario licence number 01CT2.

STOLEN POWER VICE
Between the hours of 2 PM and 4:15 PM on Sept. 1 thieves stole a rigid model Power Vice from Widdifield Secondary School. This vice is valued at $4,500.
