The bizarre winter like conditions in April will continue in our region.

Environment Canada made a special weather statement today for North Bay-West Nipissing.

Here are the chilly details courtesy of Environment Canada:

Another battle between winter and spring on the way. A large Alberta Clipper approaching the Great Lakes from the northwest will spread snow into the regions by evening. Many locales will likely receive a fresh blanket of snow tonight, with snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm expected. As a warm front from the clipper gets closer, the snow may change over to freezing precipitation overnight, with latest indications suggesting some potential for freezing rain to last a couple hours into Monday morning. The warm front is forecast to move through on Monday morning, resulting in a changeover to plain rain as temperature rise to a few degrees above zero. Environment Canada is closely monitoring this situation. Freezing rain warnings may be required as the event draws closer. Motorists should be prepared for poor winter driving conditions as untreated roads may become slippery due to the snow and subsequent freezing precipitation.
