Fill the Bus is a fundraising campaign that helps local kids experience the magic of camp says a news release from the organization.

Funds raised not only help cover the cost of registration but also help purchase supplies like running shoes and sleeping bags and re-investing into camp equipment and upgrades.

"As a charity, the YMCA ensures every child has the opportunity to access Y programs and camp experiences," said Nicole Beattie, VP of Philanthropy for the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario.

Local radio announcers Monaghan and Kevin O will be live on location all day on October 12, and travelling by school bus, provided by Stock Transportation, performing camp challenges while encouraging listeners to donate and help Fill the Bus! The grand total and camp competition winner will be announced on air during the intermission of that night’s Battalion game.

“The Rotary Club of North Bay is proud to continue our partnership with the YMCA and be a part of the Fill the Bus campaign this year," said Steve Wright, Rotary Club of North Bay President. "Funds raised will help ensure as many kids as possible will have the opportunity to create meaningful memories and lifelong friendships through attending camp.”
