Woman tosses ice through plate glass window

A 48-year-old Sturgeon Falls woman now faces a charge of mischief

On January 16th police responded to a complaint of mischief at a local downtown business. The owner informed police that a female walked by the business and threw a piece of ice at the front window causing the window to break. Police investigated the incident and were able to identify the woman. A 48-year-old Sturgeon Falls woman now faces a charge of mischief.

In other West Nipissing Police news, on January 16th officers responded to a complaint of a theft of gas at a local gas station in Sturgeon Falls. Officers were advised that a male individual pumped in excess of $80 of gas into his vehicle then drove away without paying. Police were provided with a description of the driver and the vehicle. The suspect in question was later apprehended out of town. He now faces charges of theft.

The West Nipissing Police Service is investigating mischief to a motor vehicle in the Salter street area sometime during the early morning hours of January 19th . Police learned that the complainant observed damage to his vehicle as he prepared to leave his home in the morning before attending work. Sometime overnight the culprit scratched the side of the vehicle and slashed two tires. The damage to the vehicle is in excess of $3,000, and police are actively investigating the complaint

On January 19th a Sabourin Road resident contacted the police to report that her vehicle had been entered and that the culprit had stolen some change and a suitcase. The complainant advised police that the many school documents and personal papers were contained within the suitcase. Police continue their search for the red carry-on size suitcase with telescopic handle and 4 wheels.

Between January 14th and January 20th, the West Nipissing Police Service logged 149 calls for service. Among those were 3 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 27 police assistance calls, 3 thefts, 8 unwanted persons complaints, and 2 domestic dispute and 2 mischief complaints
