Woman beats man with broom, handcuffs him to the bed

They add that on occasions prior to this incident, the woman threatened her partner, and handcuffed him to the bed while he was sleeping.

A local woman is facing numerous domestic-related charges after a bizarre series of events.

Police say that on Saturday afternoon, September 3rd, the 65-year-old woman assaulted her male partner at their shared residence, and later struck him with a broom.

They add that on occasions prior to this incident, the woman threatened her partner, and handcuffed him to the bed while he was sleeping.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of these incidents.

Shortly before midnight on Saturday, North Bay Police arrested and charged a 65-year old North Bay woman with:

  • One count of assault;
  • One count of assault with a weapon;
  • One count of forcible confinement; and
  • One count of utter threats to cause death or bodily harm.

The woman, whose name North Bay Police will not be releasing in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, was held for a bail hearing.
