North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa continued

A Major winter storm continues to pound northeastern Ontario.

This is a warning that dangerous winter weather conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

The intense storm has moved into southwestern Québec and is drifting slowly northwards as forecast. Heavy snow and wind continues to affect much of northeastern and parts of central Ontario. However..Conditions will gradually improve from southwest to northeast tonight into Monday. In the mean time near blizzard conditions with bitterly cold winds and poor visibilities in heavy blowing and drifting snow will persist over many areas into the overnight period.
