Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for areas south and west of North Bay including:
- Burk's Falls - Bayfield Inlet,
- Huntsville - Baysville
- Deep River - Whitney - Eastern Algonquin Park
Freezing rain is expected overnight into Friday morning. A low-pressure system will arrive this evening.
Snow or snow mixed with ice pellets will begin this evening and change to freezing rain later this evening or overnight. Freezing rain is then expected to change to rain early Friday morning. The freezing rain should last about two hours.
Travel may be impacted or become hazardous at times.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

- Greater Sudbury and vicinity,
- New Liskeard - Temagami,
A significant winter storm is expected tonight night into Friday night. A Colorado low tracking towards the Great Lakes and northeastward across the regions will give heavy snow and blowing snow.
Regions from Sault Ste. Marie to North Bay may also experience a period of freezing rain or rain Thursday night and through Friday before a cold front sweeps eastward across the regions giving more snow and blowing snow. Travel may be impacted or become hazardous due to this storm moving across the regions from Thursday afternoon into early Saturday morning. Cold wind chill values are also expected with the passage of the cold front on Friday or Friday night.
Winter Storm watches may be issued for this event and this statement will be updated as new information becomes available.
