Former Downtown Improvement Area Manager John Wilson tossed his hat into the ring announcing today that he is running for a seat on North Bay City Council.

Wilson touched on several areas he feels need to improve in order for the city to move forward. They include working with the provincial and federal governments, youth retention, economic development and a tax rebate program for industry.

Wilson who is semi-retired said he gave careful consideration before filing his nomination papers.

“I still have that fire in my belly, I care about the city,” he says about running.

“I want to be able to put a lot of work into making it a good place to live and continuing to be a good place to live. And I am dedicated to it.”
