Mattawa – Mattawa OPP, Upper Ottawa Valley OPP, the Killaloe OPP Crime Unit, the North Bay OPP Crime Unit and the North East Region Rural and Agricultural Crime Team (RACT) have arrested a Mattawa man in connection with a Break, Enter and Theft that took place in Deux-Rivieres, Ontario.

In the evening hours of Wednesday July 30th, 2008 culprit(s) attended a Deux-Rivieres seasonal residence and stole outdoor items, tools and machinery. Images of one of the suspects was captured on a Wildlife Sensor Camera. This break-in was reported to the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Detachment out of Pembroke. Officers from there, requested the assistance of the Mattawa OPP who identified the suspect from the image.

On Friday August 1st, 2008, OPP officers searched a Calvin Township property and residence and a number of items from the Deux-Rivieres Break-in was recovered. The items recovered exceeded $5,000.00.

48 year old Lee WALTERS of Mattawa, Ontario has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000.00 and will appear in court in North Bay on Wednesday September 10th, 2008. WALTERS also faces Break and Enter charges and will be attending court in Pembroke, Ontario on Tuesday September 16th, 2008
