Wiki Police investigate attempted murder incident

The Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service is currently investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007, in Wikwemikong.

At approximately 3:30 PM, the Wikwemikong Tribal Police received a report of stabbing that occurred at a residence located at 76 Peltier’s Trail in Wikwemikong.

The male victim had been brought to the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Office with one stab wound to the abdominal area. The victim was immediately transported by Ambulance to the Manitoulin Health Centre in Little Current.

The victim was later transferred to the Sudbury General Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police.

The suspect in this incident has been identified as Marvin (Jonathan)Isidore Dokum (DOB 18-August-1974), of Wikwemikong. Mr. Dokum is currently wanted by the Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service on charges related to this incident.

Police are seeking the assistance of the public in the investigation.
