Lots to choose from as Newsmaker of the Year. Jeff Turl/BayToday.

Time to put on your thinking cap and help decide the "Newsmaker of the Year" for 2019.

You might recall last year's winner was a private citizen, who took the City to task for a lack of transparency according to the BayToday poll.

Kevin Ferris filed a pair of high profile Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, forcing city staff to release, reluctantly, information on the Jerry Knox "corporate advisor" controversy, and results from Summer in the Park.

Lots of choices again this year.

Remember, it's who made news...good or bad...that earns the title. What was the impact on the area and its citizens? Was there large public interest/controversy generated? Achievement? Base it on 2019, not a history of newsmaking.

We've set up a poll elsewhere on this page. Who is the 2019 Newsmaker of the Year? Vote now!
