The North Bay Professional Firefighters Association’s North Bay Western Festival 2006 kicked off the weekend’s festivities with the 2nd annual parade Friday night.

People lined the streets to watch Mayor Victor Fedeli lead the cavalcade along Main and Ferguson Streets to Memorial Gardens.

Once at Memorial Gardens the local organisation ‘Rocking Horse Riding Association’ gave a sneak preview of what they can expect at the rodeo that kicks off at entertained people.

Today is Emergency Services Family Day sponsored in part by KIDSPORT and the day is packed with events starting with a pancake breakfast at 9 am on Main Street. Downtown events include a Western Hunt Downtown, Emergency Services Displays, D.I.A. Sidewalk Sale, Farmer's Market and Trick Roping & Riding Demonstrations.

The main event NAPC Extreme Tour Rodeo featuring bull riding, bronc riding and more gets underway at Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m.
