West Nipissing Council members were sworn in for the coming term this week.

Mayor Joanne Savage and eight ward representatives were sworn in by the Honourable Mr. Justice Pierre Bradley of the Ontario Court of Justice.

She expressed optimism about her upcoming term and is looking forward to working with a Council that is comprehensive and diversified.

“Our team includes returning members as well as individuals who are new to municipal government," said Savage. "Collectively, we have a wealth of experience, abilities, and knowledge. I believe in everyone’s capacity to contribute significantly as part of a dynamic and energetic group. Together we have the potential to cultivate new perspectives and to influence our community’s progress. We will continue to focus on transparency and collaboration.”

The next council meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 11.
