Yesterday was St. Patrick's day, and with it came the usual merriment.
City police were setting up R.I.D.E checks to make sure that merriment didn't extend to the roadways.
Stops at three different locations in North Bay from 8 p.m. to midnight pulled over 171 vehicles.
No drivers were suspected of, or charged with, impaired driving.
However, two snowmobile operators at Birchs Road and Gibson were both issued Provincial Offence Notices for failing to produce evidence of insurance contrary to Ontario’s Motorized Snow Vehicle Act.
