Water main break may reduce water pressure on Airport Hill Update

City Engineer Alan Korell says city waterworks crews along with the OCWA crews have stabilized the water system in the area so that everyone has water, but the water main is still in need of being repaired.

Korell says the repair of the water main will be done during the overnight period and that the only people who are closest to the problem on Francis Street may notice a drop in pressure.

"We are expecting everybody to have water but we still would like people to conserve water as much as possible."

"We would like to thank everyone for their help in conserving water which helped us stabilize the water pressures in the area," says Korell.

City Engineer Alan Korell is advising that there is a water main broken on Francis Street in the Airport Hill area of North Bay.

Korell says crews are on site and will be working until the problem is solved.

He notes that residents in that area have or will probably notice a reduction in water pressure, and that they may or may not lose water pressure to a fairly large area above Airport Hill depending on the exact nature of the break.

"We would ask people in that area to conserve water and to make precautions in the case they run out of water."
